The use of computer and information technologies gives students a lot of opportunities for individual work, differentiation of the educational process, the formation of research competence, the development of creative thinking and imagination. When using research activities in teaching disciplines of the Natural Science cycle (including biology), the need and learning ability are formed.
In this article, the biologist will talk about the importance of laboratory work in the formation of research competence of students. The data was collected through an open questionnaire from participating students and analyzed using content analysis methods. The results showed that almost all students considered laboratory work to be an integral part of teaching biology. However, the participating students focused on testing theoretical knowledge and laboratory methods of laboratory work as the main goal of the formation of research competence.
These results are compared with the relevant literature and recommendations are given.
